Brenden's Run to Nothe Fort, Weymouth.
Sunday 17th July 2011.
The weather was atrocious, however, eight members and one guest arrived at the Sportsmans Cafe between 9.00am and 10.45am. All had some kind of cooked breakfast as we all tried to dry out.
By 11.00am the rain had stopped and we were on our way. We enjoyed clear roads and stunning Dorset scenery all the way to Weymouth, where we entered the Fort and parked up. The Sun by now was shining and a warm wind blew; the morning`s rain was but a faint memory.
We all again ate well at Sarah`s kitchen, and then had a look round the Fort. At 3.00pm we set off to explore the new road out of Weymouth!
At 4.00pm we arrived back at the Sportsmans Cafe at Wardon Hill for another cuppa and despite the damp start it turned in to a very good day.
Many thanks to Colin and his son, Dave, Dave and Lynn, Jim, Bill and my wife Gill for being such good company and for turning up in such good faith that the day could not get any worse.
It did in fact got better!
